Minimum third party liability insurance (MTPL Insurance) is compulsory for all vehicles in Republic of Bulgaria and proof must be carried at all times.

There are two types of vehicle insurance in Bulgaria:

Compulsory third party liability insurance (Гражданска отговорност)

Voluntary/optional fully comprehensive insurance (Автокаско); theft, fire or vandalism insurance

Break down cover is optional

Prices start as little 15.30 BGN for the year not including admin charges. 

Auto Assistance Insurance provides you with twenty-four hours roadside assistance in case of a mechanical breakdown and/or a road traffic accident. The company also renders additional assistance in case of a theft of your motor car or in case of a sudden decline in the state of driver's health, etc.
